Overwatch de Activision Blizzard ha sido el gran triunfador de The Game Awards, la gala de premios que acaba de terminar hace escasos minutos. El título se ha hecho con el premio al mejor juego del año, la mejor dirección de juego, y también el mejor multijugador y el mejor eSport.
El fenómeno de Blizzard ha ganado cuatro de las cinco nominaciones que había conseguido. Uncharted 4, que partía como favorito con ocho nominaciones, ha ganado dos premios (mejor actuación y mejor narrativa), los mismos que Inside (mejor juego indie y mejor dirección artística) y DOOM (mejor juego de acción y mejor banda sonora). Firewatch, que recibió cinco nominaciones, no ha ganado ningún premio.
