![]() - ¿Veremos algo en el E3 de Bloody Good Time, el enigmático proyecto a lo "serie B" de Ubisoft para XboxLive? This is a first-person shooter in which players compete in a "kill-or-be-killed"-style TV program. Cartoonlike characters use frying pans, golf clubs, barbeque forks, machine guns, flamethrowers, knives, and swords to kill other actors on the TV/movie sets. Characters are often guided by the instructions and prompting of a TV/movie director. As the characters run around various sets, they are rewarded with notoriety, fame, and points for creative kills. Brightly-colored bloodstains sometimes appear when characters are hit; small bloodstains occasionally appear on floors and walls. Players are also assisted by environmental traps (e.g., electric currents, fiery gas explosions, and movable floors), which can kill several characters at once. Guards will occasionally zap characters with tasers for failing to observe in-game rules, such as refraining from killing innocent or non-targeted characters. Plants vs Zombies on 360 rated by Germany’s USK The German ratings board has rated Plants vs Zombies for Xbox 360. Granted, we’ve all known about the fun little game hitting XBL for a while now, but the outing by Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle just confirms that it’s not too far off. Hopefully. However, the rating does not mention if this is the rumored retail release or the XBLA release – nor does it offer a date. We’ll mail PopCap and see what it has to say on the matter. Maybe it will be nice and not save the information for a Microsoft announcement at E3. Doubtful though. Rumor – Sonic Free Riders coming, has Natal support Looks like SEGA has a new Sonic Racer game in the works for Natal, and it’s to be launched via XBL and announced at E3. According to a source close to Joystiq, the game is called Sonic Free Riders and it allows players to gain weapons by reaching out to the screen and attack other racers with motion movements. So basically you’ll be pretending to ride around on a flying vehicle and slap the air to knock around opponents. Sounds like a normal Saturday evening down the pub to us. Come on E3. Hurry up so we can be done will all this rumor and speculation. -Joy Ride se convierte en juego para Natal de lanzamiento Joy Ride becomes Project Natal launch game Friday 4-Jun-2010 Big Park's arcade racer gets reworked, no longer free, CVG reveals. Microsoft's arcade racer Joy Ride has been reworked as a Natal launch title, CVG can reveal. According to a senior retail source, the title will be available on Natal from day one later this year - and will no longer be free-to-play. In development at first party studio BigPark, the avatar-based game was unveiled as a free-to-play Xbox Live Arcade title at last year's E3. Having initially been due for release in late 2009, the game was reported to be missing in action earlier this week after its listing was wiped from Xbox.com. Microsoft responded to requests for comment by saying that it planned to "bring BigPark's vision to life in 2010", adding that it had "nothing further to announce at this time". Our source told us the game had been "completely reworked" for Natal. "The hope for us is that it will be a boxed release - we're still in the dark on that one - but it's definitely for Natal and will definitely be here for launch," our source said. "We've been told it will no longer be free to play, but that it's been completely reworked into a bigger, richer game than before. "They're putting the final touches to it now. The biggest thing for us is that it just works with Natal's racing controls. We're reliably informed it's very intuitive." It's due to be unveiled on Sunday, June 13 at E3 2010 - the date of Microsoft's special Natal-centric event. -24 juegos (no conocidos) para 360 "...But more importantly we have also been invited to see 24 yet to be released games behind closed doors, these things are so secret that I can’t even hint at what games we are seeing but I can say I am stupidly excited about 7 of them and am looking forward to virtually all the others." |

EALA Vets Form Haunted Temple, Announce XBLA/PC Turn-Based Strategy Game June 4, 2010 A group of development veterans most recently worked at Electronic Arts Los Angeles has formed independent developer Haunted Temple Studios, whose first project is the Advance Wars-inspired Skulls of the Shogun for Xbox Live Arcade and PC. Comprised of four team members and announced on the game's official site, Haunted Temple was spearheaded by artist Jake Kazdal, who first become known for his work on Space Channel 5 and Rez at Sega's United Game Artists. Kazdal moved to EA LA, where he contributed to numerous games including Steve Spielberg's stalled LMNO project as well as Command & Conquer 4 -- whose team was told it would be largely laid off after the game's completion. "I hate to say it but EA LA laying everyone off was the best thing that ever happened to me!" Kazdal said in a 1UP interview. "To be able to cherry pick some of the best developers I had ever worked with to work on my own game was just the most phenomenal thing ever." The other three members of Haunted Temple are designer and programmer Borut Pfeifer, programmer Ben Vance, and audio developer Sam Bird, all of whom worked on either LMNO, Command & Conquer 4, or both. Skulls of the Shogun's official site describes the game as "an invigorating cocktail of 1960s-flavored sorcery and strategy," aiming to push the turn-based strategy genre forward by maintaining an elegance in gameplay with evolutions to interface, graphics, and tactical options. Haunted Temple hopes to complete the game on Xbox Live Arcade and PC within six to nine months, and is considering other platforms, including iPad, in the future.
Dragon Age Anime Announced BioWare's fantasy RPG franchise Dragon Age is to be adapted into an anime feature film, the developer announced today, created with anime distributor FUNimation. "Anime is a great medium for us to continue the robust Dragon Age story," said Dragon Age franchise executive producer Mark Darrah in the announcement. Over on the FUNimation side of the partnership, CEO Gen Fukunaga promises "We are going to be bringing the classic visual and storytelling techniques found in anime to create a film that will extend the narrative of the world BioWare has created." Darrah and BioWare creative director Mike Laidlaw will executive-produce the film, as will Fukunaga and FUNimation director of original entertainment Chris Moujaes. Production was slated to begin in May, while the finished product will be released for "home video" at an unspecified point in 2011. An unnamed Dragon Age title is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2011 while an unknown something is due on February 1, 2011. The anime's release could well tie into--or be--one of these.

Black: Bodycount intended to have campaign co-op Bodycount director Stuart Black has said that he intended to have the shooter’s campaign to have co-op al the way through. But speaking with D’Toid, he revealed that because of some moments in the game’s story which were “vital” to require the player to be by itself. “It became really obvious — and it pained me — that there were key moments, two or three key moments,” said Black, “where it was absolutely vital that you were by yourself to feel that sense of isolation. “And I was really like, ‘Oh no, I can’t believe this!’ and I tried to think, ‘How can I get around this?’ and it was like, story-wise…I can’t. I have to have [those moments] that were too important to drop. So that was a bit of a bastard.” But despite them problems, the Codemasters shooter still has co-op, which, according to Black, will have missions that are like Spec Ops in Modern Warfare 2. But longer. Bodycount releases early next year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

E3 2010: Namco will have Natal, 3D announcements Test Drive and Enslaved publisher, Namco Bandai Partners will have Natal, Move and 3D related announcements at E3 next week. That's according to VP, Olivier Comte, who told CVG that he expects this year's Los Angeles show to be back to its old, gigantic best. "We cannot talk about it right now," Comte said when asked about Move, Natal and 3D. "There is some embargo on announcements but we will have some announcements to make at E3. "I really wonder how E3 is going to be this year because we seem to have come back on track," he said. "I wonder if this year it will be E3 like three or four years ago - a very big event. This is how I feel." Comte added that with the platform holders' motion control devices making big waves, Namco Bandai knows it will be "complicated" to make its own noise at the show.
Activision Unveils DJ Hero 2 While only hinted at earlier this year, Activision has officially announced the sequel to 2009’s most innovative music game – DJ Hero. “DJ Hero was the best music game of 2009 and with DJ Hero 2 we’re delivering a new easy to pick-up, challenging-to-master experience that all players can enjoy together,” said David Haddad, Chief Operating Officer of the Guitar Hero franchise. “With new social game modes, the inclusion of full microphone support, all-new levels of creative freedom and an amazing soundtrack, DJ Hero 2 is the ultimate mixer of music and friends.” As mentioned, features include compatibility with a second turntable, microphone integration, freestyle gameplay, and a slew of new mixes. Social-centric multiplayer modes have also been added, with DJ battles pitting friend against friend on specially designed tracks. Drop-in, drop-out party play allows for more flexibility, and career-inspired Empire Mode will provide you the chance to grow from a green DJ to the head of a major entertainment empire. “We’re improving upon all the gameplay elements from DJ Hero that gamers loved with the all-new freestyle gameplay and a host of new multiplayer game modes,” said Jamie Jackson, Creative Director, FreeStyleGames. “But we’re not stopping there either as the award-winning soundtrack is getting bigger songs from hotter artists that our talented crew of DJ’s is spinning into hits that fit the gameplay flawlessly.” Featured artists include Dr. Dre, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Metallica, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and “over 85 others.” Also joining the roster as a playable character is producer Deadmau5. To celebrate the reveal of DJ Hero 2, fans can download a free mix of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and Deadmau5’s “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” from XBL and the PSN Store June 8-14. DJ Hero 2 will launch this fall via several different retail packages. The Party Bundle will include the game, two turntables, and a microphone. The Turntable bundle will ship with the game and a single deck. Standalone software will also be available to purchase. In an interview we conducted earlier this year, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick revealed his plans to maintain the budding DJ Hero franchise. Speaking on the merit of committing to an IP for the long-term, Kotick stated “…If you’re going to make a commitment to doing something original, the odds are that you’re not going to get it right the first chance.” He also maintained that “less games, better games,” is Activision's strategy in relation to the DJ Hero brand.
Joe Danger could appear on other formats Joe Danger developer Hello Games has said that it may consider porting its PlayStation 3 title to other formats, including Xbox 360, but it would have been humanly impossible to get the game out on multiple platforms initially. "It does run on 360. I shouldn't say that, but it does," Hello MD Sean Murray joked on the Eurogamer.net Podcast today. "We're just four dudes making the game. It takes everything we've got to just bring it out on one platform. People probably don't understand that, but it's this huge amount of work, and huge amount of money to do that. "We're kind of free agents after this, so we'll see, and we want to get our game out there. But no, we couldn't have brought it out on lots of different platforms. That would've killed us." Murray also said the team would continue to support the game with extra features after release, including the option to save and share replays. "Yes, that's... unannounced, but we don't have any press plans so that's absolutely fine," he said when we prompted him about it. "There's loads of stuff like that that we're adding. We can't wait to get the game out there so people can tell us what they want." Earlier Murray had said that the team of four guys at Hello came to a point during development where they had to stop adding new things and get the game out of the door. "We made the game, and then we eventually had to stop. It was literally like, 'We've all run out of money now. We have to stop.' We just, even now, are still continuing to add stuff and to get a patch ready and stuff like that. It's just a labour of love," he explained. "We just throw in everything that we can, and there's some stuff that didn't make it that we will keep putting in and everything. People have said, 'Have you got DLC plans?' or whatever, and if we were smart we would have maybe kept back some of the game like publishers do, but we just threw everything in."
E3 2010: Milo Will Be in Attendance Earlier today Lionhead decided to get a little crazy on Twitter and try sarcasm on for size. The group tweeted "No we are not showing ANYTHING at #E3 no #Fable3 no #Milo no-thing, not even an announcement. NOTHING. You got that? We're not even going." Some people took that at face value and did the Internet equivalent of weeping. It was, of course, sarcastic and Lionhead will indeed be at E3. Things were later cleared up . Hooray! We already knew that Fable III would be at the show, but this comes as the first confirmation of sorts that Milo will make another appearance. Milo, a game where you interact with a virtual boy via Project Natal, was unveiled at E3 of 2009 but has not been heard from since.
Two of the most popular movie franchises of the 1980s and 90s will be returning to video game consoles and computers thanks to Telltale, as the company has struck a deal with Universal to re-imagine Back to the Future and Jurassic Park. A story filed by the Associated Press is reporting that Telltale Games is taking on two long-dormant movie franchises and planning on telling new stories within their framework, using the developer's signature episodic adventure game style. Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors, hinted at new scenarios for each series, like a time travel trip to the 1970 in Back to the Future, while Jurassic Park might use new settings to strengthen the rivalry between men and dinosaurs. According to Universal Studios interactive VP Bill Kispert, Telltale's approach to creating games and telling stories made the developer an ideal partner, stating "We were very interested in bringing them into the interactive space, but they're not exactly the kind of properties that lend themselves to the stereotypical shoot-'em-up style of gameplay." The two games are slated for release this winter for the Mac, PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. The last time each movie franchise has had a dedicated official video game was in 2003 when Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis released for the PC, PS2, and Xbox, while the last Back to the Future game was in 1993, when Super Back to the Future II came out for the Super Famicom in Japan.

2K's XCOM, the "re-imagining" of the classic strategy series as a "mystery-filled first-person shooter," now has a release window: 2011. Upon its announcement earlier this year, the game--coming to PC and Xbox 360 from BioShock 2 veterans 2K Marin--was not provided with any sort of a release estimate. That changed today, as publisher 2K Games unveiled the lineup of games it will display at E3 2010, listing XCOM as a 2011 release alongside Spec Ops: The Line. Portal 2 Delayed to 2011 Valve announced today it is delaying Portal 2 into 2011. The game was originally scheduled to ship this coming holiday on PC and Xbox 360. No reason for the delay was given, but a note from the series' in-game research company Aperture Science noted that "even though Portal 2 will arrive slightly later than planned, all life on earth won't instantaneously stop as every molecule in your body explodes at the speed of light, which is what would happen should a rip ever appear in the fabric of Valve Time." Valve recently announced it canceled its E3 event for Portal 2 that was supposed to take place next week. The company said it has a surprised planned for the night instead.
Frozenbyte Announcing New Title Next Week [E3] Frozenbyte–developer of the all around excellent puzzle platformer Trine–has been busy behind the scenes, with word arriving that the studio has partnered with publisher Atlus to release a yet to be announced digital distribution title. The game is currently targeted for a 2011 release and more info will be announced next week at E3. While no platforms were provided in the press release, ‘digital distribution’ all but confirms it will have a PC version and begs the question if PSN or perhaps even XBLA or WiiWare will be involved as well. We’ll have more when the announcement hits sometime during the Expo.
But licensed Avalanche title will be 'more controlled' than JC Just Cause developer Avalanche is busy creating a new licensed action game, the studio has revealed to CVG. Avalanche boss Christofer Sundberg didn't give too much away in our exclusive new interview, but he revealed that the game would be more "controlled" than JC. Judging by the studio's last release, we can't bloody wait. "I can't talk much about our next project but it's definitively within the action genre," he told CVG. "But we have made a move towards the more controlled experience to better convey a strong storyline. "We'll never leave our big game worlds and spectacular explosive action, though. After working on original IPs for seven years we wanted to try a licence, but there's only been a few that we've felt was 100 per cent right for the studio. This one is perfect!" Sundberg won the hearts and minds of many a PC gamer last month, when he told CVG that 'always on' DRM was punishing legitimate consumers.

E3 2010: Microsoft: 'bigger announcements than Natal' ahead MS get the hype machines running even faster Microsoft has said that its readying announcements for E3 that are bigger than last year's Natal reveal. An email that went out to Xbox.com users said, "With the massive Project Natal announcement at last year's event, you'd think we'd find it hard to top that. Well, think again. This year at E3 we've got even BIGGER announcements to share with you." It's a classic case of hyping to the point of a system failure, but that's what this is all about, right? Microsoft obviously have big hopes for Natal, hoping that it will give the 360 a boost in sales and lifespan.
Microsoft to Announce a Konami Exclusive at the E3 Presentation KonamiWe had no doubt about Microsoft having some tricks up their sleeve for their upcoming E3 presentation. When you have someone with as much expendable cash flow as MS and the dedication they’ve shown to ensure they have a place in the world of video games, anything is possible. It appears that one of those tricks is going to be the reveal of a Konami exclusive. Details are slim to the point of all we know is that the game is from Konami. Thankfully we only have to wait four days to find out what is. There are a ton of possibilities that have us salivating in anticipation of the E3 presentation. The news comes from the same person who tipped us off to Itagaki’s appearance at E3 back in March, which was just revealed officially a couple days ago. I guess we should be happy that we don’t have to wait 3 months again. We can’t wait to see what game it is.
